Our Program

The National Initiative for STEAMM Empowerment & Access (NISEA) is a college access program dedicated to supporting middle and high school students from underrepresented and underserved communities nationwide. Established in 2024, NISEA aims to inspire and guide students in exploring opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math, and Medicine (STEAMM). Through mentorship and hands-on learning, participants develop essential skills in research, critical thinking, and communication while gaining exposure to STEM fields and careers.

In our unique model, each high school student is paired with a faculty or staff mentor and an undergraduate mentor. Together, these teams collaborate on projects throughout the academic year. This mentorship framework fosters meaningful, positive, and impactful relationships within research groups, empowering students to thrive academically and professionally.

While other programs may focus on advancing STEM education and access, NISEA distinguishes itself by integrating both the arts and medicine into its model. This holistic approach highlights the intersection of educational disparities and opportunities within these fields, while also addressing the personal impact these disparities have on students from underserved communities.
